SUPER RELAXATION MASSAGE
In the previous article, was mentioned on the muscle spasms and Trigger points. In this article will describe about the pain points and the cause of their occurance. But what is the reason of enjoyable massage? What really happens when we get massage and feel better and it gives us a sense of relaxation and peace? What is the reason of short and pleasant sleep during massage?A massage that it referred to us as a super relaxation Massage.
Usually an experienced masseur, after checking the physical condition of the massage recipient, starts warming up the muscles and performing the massage with few simple movements. By putting pressure on the muscles and using massage techniques, the blood flow increases in the muscles and The body get in to the recovery mode. But not only this, also hormonal changes occure in the body.
Massage causes transudation of a Hormon called Endorphin, which is know as the body,s natural pain reliever. By creating pressure in the muscles that have cramps and spasms, alovely pain is felt, wich send a massage to the brain and causes the release of this Hormone frome the Pirtuitary gland.
In addition of sensation of massage which is transfered by the touch of the maseur,s hand to the massage recipient,s body, causes the release of another Hormone called Serotonin, which is a happy Hormone. This Hormone creates a pleasurable sensation in the massage recipient,s body. The feeling that after removal of muscle spasm and pain, causes the massage recipient to experience a light and short sleep during the massage. In other words, to have an ultra relaxation massage.
Painful points or Trigger Points
like others, you must have experienced a painful sensation some where in your body. It is as if the pain has been injected with an ampoule in a specific part of your body. What really happens when this condition occures in the body? In massage science, these points are called Trigger points. But what factors cause these painful point? You must have seen human muscle tissue in pictures. The human body is made up of many muscle tissues which each of them has speciall movement, according to his activity. Each muscle is made up of several muscle fibres. When these fibres are placed together, take a special form. As mentioned in the previous article, people who have monotonous movement in their work and daily activities will experience muscle spasms in the target muscle. The muscles reaction to these uniform pressures is pain in a specific point of the muscle. Infact Trigger points are a sensitive point or knot in the muscle. Creating movements in the body is the result of a nerve message from the brain to the desired organ, which ends in creating movement or muscle reaction. If the activity happen in a long period of time and the number of movements, it will be associated with the accumulation of lactic acid and causing pain and tension in the muscles.
Having a fixed movement phase or in fact immobility(in the case of desk siters) causes cramps in certain muscles. This is due to contraction or muscle shortening in that part of body. In this case, by shortening the muscle, the nerve massage of pain is sent . .to the brain in fact, the trigger point is created right ander the nerve that sends this message to the brain.
Myofascial pains
But how does the pain spread in the body and what is the cause of body bruising? This question must arise, why when a person experiences a muscle spasm in a particular muscle, she/he feels numb or bruised in the whole body and has a low mood? First, I have to give you an explanation about the connective tissues of the muscles which we know as Fasciae.
As explained befor, the humans body consists of a lage number of muscles, which each of them has it,s own function and activity. As a matter of fact, human body,s muscles can classified in to three groups. 1.striated muscle tissue, which is mostly noticed by maseurs. 2.smooth muscle tissues, such as the muscles of the digestive tract. 3. And the integral heart muscle, which has a unique texture.
All these muscles are related to the central nervous system of the body. When a part of the body becomes numb due to impact or pressure or continuous activity or lack of activity, the pain is felt not only in that muscle, also in other side of the muscle,which we know as connective tissues (Fasciae). Because of these reason , sometimes the pain is felt in apoint other than the tissue of the target. The nerves of all these muscle are connected to the brain through the spinal colum, massaging the paraspinal muscles ( muscles around the spinal column) can be effective in reducing the reflex pain. The nerves of each part of the body pass through a specific part in the vertebral column, in order to reduce reflex pain , the specific paraspinal muscles of the same part should be stimulated with 30 to 60 second pressure. These massages, which are called paraspinal massages, are very useful and effective in reducing the pain of connective tissues. This will be explained more in the following article.
