You may have read about sport or Swedish Massage or maybe you have try it before. There are many articles about this style of massage which sometimes causes confusion in maseures. Some times the techniques are performed incorrectly, because the goals of those techniques are not considered. In this article will give you useful information about sport massage very brief and short.
Sport massage is an european style and the purpose is the better recovery of athletes. Because of good effect in recovery, it has been found self place not only in sport feredation olso in massage parlors.
what about this massage you need to know, are the techniques and the purposes of using those.
Before explaining, you need to know about many important point. Swedish Massage has three 3 protocols. 1)pre- race protocol:
The target in this protocol is heating and preparing the athletes body.there for the techniques are performed with greater speed and less pressure to increase blood circulation speed and prepare the muscles for the race
Tip: we dont use oil massage
2during the match protocol:
The purpose in this protocol is to keep Athlete ready to continue the competition. Therefore motivational techniques are performed with more speed and less pressure.
Tip: we don't use oil massage
3post- race protocol:
The purpose of implementing the techniques in this protocol is recovery and create relaxation in the body. For this target techniques are performed with lower speed and greater pressure to drain lactic acid and fix muscle spasm.

The main techniques of sport massage
We classify this techniques generally in six categories
1stroke Technique
The purpose of these techniques is warming up the muscle and increasing blood supply and oiling the body wich included by 9 techniques.
Carpenter:
Another name of this technique is Effleurage. make palms oily and placing the palms next to each other and make the movement back and forth along the lenght of the muscle . This technique is suitable for prepering the muscle for massage.
T-Stroke
In this technique, the palms are placed on the waist just like T alphabet and make movement from the waist up to the shoulder. Do it back and forth.
Fan-stroke
Pleas place palms on the waist. This time with open paws with rotary motion move the palms from waist to shoulder Back and forth.
V-Stroke:
While the Thumb with another 4 fingers has an angel like V alphabet, make a movement sideways from wasit to shoulder sequentially frome bottom to top with both hand.
Knockel stroke:
pleas fist hands and put them in the loin fillets side by side. The movement goes up to the shoulder vertically and in return, Thenar and Hypothenar muscles placed on the shoulder and we bring it down to the waist.pleas payattention that in went motion, the third joint of the fingers will be in contact with back of the massage recipient and in return with thenar and hypothenar muscles.
Ironing:
To do this technique, place next to the massage recipient transversely.we move with the forearm from waist to the shoulder, back and forth. Move forth with the left forearms and move back with the right forearm. We can move the forearms in the same time and in two opposite directions.
Criss-Cross:
To do this, place next to the massager and with palms, massage from waist to the scapula alternativly up and down. The movement could be done in the opposite direction of each other, back and forth.
Thousand Hand:
Stand on top of the massage recipient,s head and do it with the pads of all fingers. We massage from the waist to the shoulder, back and forth.you can move your hands with opposite direction.
Olnar-Stroke:
pleas stand in the archer position next to the massager. The fingertips of both hand should be placed against each other, on the loin fillet. It moves from bottom to top and in back motion, hands go to the side, go back till next to the lower hips.
2Friction Technique:
These technuques are useful for relieving pain in triggerpoints. Two moves are very common in this category.
Friction circular:
This technique is done by placing the thumb pad on the triggerpoint. press each point 3 to 5 seconds. The movement is done along the pain line.
Cross Fiber:
in this technique, finger pads of both hands placed on top of each other. Then put it in triggerpoint. Then move on the muscle balk by making point pressures.
3petrisage Technique:
This group of techniques are appropriate to relieve muscle spasm and cramps.four techniques are more common in this category.
Kneeding:
we can do this technique with our Thumb pad in a circular direction and anti- clockweise. We go back and forth frome the waist to the shoulder.
picking up:
This technique is done transversely therefore stand with the warrios guard. Stand next to the massager and hold the muscle between the thumb and forefinger with both hand and lift it. We should perform the technique with both hands consecutively.
Wringing:
To do this technique, we put our palms on the massage recipient,s back. squeez and releas the muscle between our right hand,s thumb and indext finger of the left hand and do it vice versa. Do it back to back.
Skin Rolling:
This technique is applied from the waist to the shoulder. For this purpose, the heels of the hands placed on the waist and direct the muscle with the other eight fingerstowards the thumbs. Your thumbs following eight fingers towards to the shoulder.
4compression Technique:
these techniques are very suitable for removing lymph. This category has four common moves.
Static Compression:
in this technique, the palms placed on the muscle. With the heels of both hands put the pressure point to point. Hold each pressure for 5 seconds.
Dynamic compression:
Fist both hands and place it on the muscle, but this time turn both fists 90 degree in the opposite direction on the muscle with pressure. This technique can also be done point by point from the waist to the shoulder or on the back of the legs.
Masele brodening compression:
Put both of hands on the muscle and with the heels of the hands make a pressure in opposite directions and move facing out wards.
Masele squzing compression:
Put the paws of both hands together and squeeze the muscle with help of the heel of the hands. Pressure is applied to the muscle in the direction of the palms of both hands.
5shaking, justing, vibration technique
These techniques called motivational techniques. They are very useful for eliminating lactic acid and increasing blood circulation, so they are very usful in the inter- mach protocol.
Shaking:
In this technique, we hold and shake the massage recipient,s hand or food.
Josting:
Put the palms together and make a vibration. The vibration should be transmitted directly through the palms to the muscle by creating pressure.
Tip: in this technique, the elbows should be straight.
Vibration:
by placing the palm on the muscle and causing vibration, vibrate the muscle. Vibrating tremors should be to the left and right.
tip: we don't push! Just shake vibrating tremors.
6Tapotment technique:
These techniques are usful to increase blood flow and stimulation of the neuromuscular system. So they are common for before the race and included by eight techniques.
Taping:
with the tips of the fingers hit the muscle vertically.
Beating:
Fist hands like knocking on a door. With first and second joint of the fingers hit the muscle.you can do it one by one.left had, right hand immediately.
Cupping:
cup the palms and hit the muscle consecutively.
Punding:
With fisted hand and the heels of the fists hit the muscle successively.
Slaping:
slap the muscle with the palms of our hands.
pincement:
pinch with thumb and forefinger and pull upwards.
Tip: this technique should be done quickly and consecutively.
Chap- chap:
put the palms together, then move on the muscle in the opposite direction and then put the palms together again and by placing on the muscle, move them in the oppisite direction.
tip: you have to do it quickly like Japanese hello.
Hacking:
Put the palms together and with the blade of both hands hit the muscle consecutively.
